Play. Build. Enrich.

Christine provides quality piano lessons for children and adults wanting to learn to
make music on the piano - because learning piano is fun!
And yes, it can require some effort - like all worthwhile things.

My goal is for students to acquire a love for music and develop their talents, so that music would enrich their lives always.

Play beyond just notes - play musically.
          Play without notes!

          Build discipline, grow confidence.
          Build brains, nurture the heart.

          Enrich life, awaken its colors.
Let's focus now - and take yourself away!

Piano Christine & Studios is located in West Seattle, in the heart of Arbor Heights, and is convenient to all neighborhoods in West Seattle, including the Junction, Fairmount Park, Gatewood, and North Admiral, as well as surrounding areas in Burien / Normandy Park.

Encouraging and organized

We have truly enjoyed our daughter learning piano with Ms Christine. She is so encouraging and caring, very organized and professional. She has also been so accommodating throughout Covid time and beyond making this transition seamless for our whole family.  - Valerie

Learning and having fun

We have really enjoyed how much fun the girls are having and how quickly their skills are improving! The amount of time expected to practice is realistic and fits well into our busy lives. We couldn’t be happier!  - Erika

Musician teacher, Fun & discipline

Christine has a special talent for combining fun & discipline in her piano instruction. There are many talented people out there, but not all of them can TEACH. Christine is that rare musician who’s incredibly talented AND able to teach effectively. My daughter has fun but also thrives on Christine’s lessons and expectations. We’ve been so lucky to have her as a piano teacher!  - Elena

Excitement for music

My boys have taken piano lessons from Christine for 4 years.  Their technique and discipline have improved, but more importantly, they are developing a deep love and excitement for music. As a parent, there is no greater joy than to witness one's children enjoying the beautiful things in life.  This is a gift that will accompany them their whole lives.  Christine's love for the piano is infectious and genuine. She is terrific!  - Kelly

Nurturing the soul

After a 25-year hiatus from my own piano playing, I decided to pick it back up, amidst the hustle and bustle of mid-life. Christine has been infinitely patient and aided me in dusting off the cobwebs.  I am eternally grateful for her skill as a teacher and her deeply held love for music, as she has nurtured music back to life for me at a time when my soul needed it!  - Adult Student

Learning the basics, playing by ear

My two daughters have been studying with Christine for about 2 1/2 years. WE LOVE HER! Not only is she a fantastic and gifted performer, her teaching style is a perfect combination of patiently teaching the basics and encouraging my children to play by ear and explore music they love. I am amazed each time I hear my girls play at how much they have accomplished in such a short time. They play anything from Beethoven and Mozart to Katy Perry and tunes from Annie. - Cori

Encouraging and challenging

Christine is so amazing. There were times when my son wanted to quit (because he didn't want to practice).  But Christine has always emphasized perseverance.  She has encouraged him just past his comfort zone to get through challenging pieces. now he enjoys those challenges and exudes pride in playing harder pieces.  He still likes to listen to Christine's CD in the car and will often play classical music on Pandora.  I’m really glad that you have been so encouraging, pushing him as needed, and giving him harder pieces that he can work through!  - Sophia

Technical and with feeling

My 3rd grade daughter has been studying with Christine for 1.5 years now and is already playing beautiful pieces that I just love to hear her practice! I am amazed at the progression she has made and how Christine is capable of getting her to play not only technically correct, but also with feeling and touch. The group lessons, recitals, and adjudications that Christine offers and participates in are such an excellent benefit with piano being a solo instrument. It is wonderful that my daughter can be connected to others who are also learning to play. I greatly appreciate Christine's calm manner and ability to pick up on what interests my daughter. She has even helped her compose some of her own music! Thank you, Christine, for introducing her in such a positive way to the world of piano!  - Shelley

Loving piano!

My son really loves piano and a lot of that is because of your style.  He sometimes needs reminding to practice but barely groans most of the time. Then, when he sits down to play, I can tell he is enjoying himself and really starting to reach a little bit of that flow-state feeling where he's kind of free. It is so beautiful to watch. One thing I have noticed about you, Christine, is that I have heard you give gentle, kind feedback that is always framed as encouragement. He sometimes shows up not having practiced a certain piece and you never dwell on that. It seems to be an incredibly effective way to move the teaching and learning because I feel like he has absorbed that modeling. I can see in the way he talks to himself as he practices. He doesn't say negative things under his breath and when he screws up I see him roll with it and sometimes even laugh and move on. I am so proud of him and I can see your teaching style is a really good fit for him.   - Susie
